Senator Carper, Mayor Carey Help Dover Team Raise Blueprint Communities Banner
Senator Tom Carper and Dover Mayor Carleton Carey were on hand April 28 to assist the Dover Community Partnership in raising its Blueprint Communities banner in Downtown Dover. Also attending the event, among others, were Blueprint Communities team member Ami Sebastian Hauer, executive director of the Dover Housing Authority, and Bill Miller, Government Relations Manager of FHLBank Pittsburgh.
FHLBank Pittsburgh joined with the University of Delaware’s Center for Community Research and Service to launch the Blueprint Communities initiative in Delaware during a ceremony in Newark on March 15. At that event, Senator Carper, Congressman Castle, Governor Minner, FHLBank President John Price and University of Delaware President Thomas Harker addressed the Blueprint teams and announced the participating communities. The Dover team is one of nine teams from communities in Delaware currently attending training sessions on community planning, leadership and capacity building.
Blueprint Communities helps cities, towns and neighborhoods develop stronger leaders, a clear community vision and a detailed strategic plan for sustainable community growth.
